Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat. Stir in taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened.

In each serving bowl, layer chopped romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, avocado, red onion, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Spoon the seasoned ground beef over the salad base. Leave it layered or toss to mix the ingredients together, as preferred.

Drizzle the salad with sour cream or Greek yogurt, and salsa. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top.

Finish the dish with a generous sprinkle of crushed tortilla or corn chips. Optionally add sliced jalapeños or chopped cilantro.
