Crispy Oven Baked Chicken (Print-Friendly Version)

Crispy-skinned, juicy chicken thighs seasoned with garlic and smoked paprika, baked to golden perfection in under an hour.

# What You'll Need:

01 - 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
03 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
05 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
02 - In a mixing bowl, drizzle the chicken thighs with olive oil and rub to coat. Sprinkle the garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper evenly over each piece, rubbing the seasoning into the skin and under it if you like.
03 - Place the seasoned chicken in the prepared baking dish, skin-side up, making sure the pieces are spaced out so they roast rather than steam.
04 - Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the skin is crisp and a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reads 165°F (75°C).
05 - Once out of the oven, let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the juices to settle.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Marinate the chicken for a few hours or overnight for deeper flavor and juicier texture.
02 - Bone-in thighs provide the best flavor and texture, but you can use boneless thighs, drumsticks, or chicken breasts. Adjust the cooking time accordingly.
03 - Broil the chicken for 2-3 minutes at the end of cooking for extra crispy skin, watching carefully to prevent burning.
04 - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. They are great for salads, wraps, or sandwiches.
