Country Ranch Green Beans Bacon (Print-Friendly Version)

Hearty green beans and potatoes, simmered with bacon and ranch seasoning, offer rich, comforting flavors any time.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main

01 - 450 g fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 2.5 cm pieces (frozen beans can be used with extended cooking time)
02 - 450 g baby potatoes, halved or quartered according to size
03 - 6 slices bacon, diced
04 - 1 medium onion, finely chopped
05 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
06 - 28 g ranch seasoning mix
07 - 240 ml chicken broth
08 - 1 teaspoon dried thyme
09 - 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
10 - Salt and black pepper, to taste
11 - 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, use if bacon is lean)

# How to Make It:

01 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook diced bacon until golden and crispy. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and reserve; leave drippings in the pan. If using lean bacon and fat is insufficient, add olive oil to prevent sticking.
02 - Add chopped onion to rendered bacon fat in the skillet and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
03 - Add halved potatoes to the pan. Season with thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat vegetables evenly with seasonings.
04 - Add green beans to the skillet. Sprinkle ranch seasoning evenly over contents and pour in chicken broth. Stir gently to combine.
05 - Cover skillet and cook over medium-low heat for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook until potatoes are easily pierced with a fork and green beans are cooked yet vibrant. Uncover for the final minutes to allow broth to reduce and intensify in flavor.
06 - Return reserved bacon to skillet and stir to distribute. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes to meld flavors. Serve hot, garnished with extra bacon or fresh herbs as desired.

# Additional Tips:

01 - For a richer finish, stir in a tablespoon of butter at the end of cooking. The dish reheats well and develops deeper flavor on the following day. Top with extra crisp bacon for added texture.
02 - For browned or crisper potatoes, parboil and sear them before adding green beans and broth.
