In a large mixing bowl, add rolled oats, milk, mashed banana, cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix thoroughly until the cocoa powder is incorporated and the mixture is uniform.

Transfer the blended mixture into an airtight jar or container. Seal tightly and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the oats to absorb the liquid and soften.

Stir the oats before serving. If desired, adjust the consistency with a small splash of milk. Top with sliced banana and chocolate chips.
