Crispy onion rings with melted mozzarella, ideal for sharing and party appetizers.

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Components

01 - 1 large onion, sliced into thick rings
02 - 8 mozzarella cheese sticks
03 - 240 ml whole milk
04 - 1 large egg, beaten
05 - 100 g panko breadcrumbs
06 - 480 ml cooking oil
07 - Toothpicks, for securing rings

→ Dry Ingredients

08 - 120 g all-purpose flour
09 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
10 - 1 teaspoon fine salt

# How to Make It:

01 - Nest a smaller onion ring inside a larger one and fill the gap with sliced mozzarella. Secure with toothpicks.
02 - Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Dredge the filled onion rings in this dry mixture and set on a wire rack.
03 - Whisk together milk and beaten egg, then add to the remaining dry mix to form a smooth batter.
04 - Dip dredged onion rings into the batter, letting excess drip off. Roll them in panko breadcrumbs and return to wire rack.
05 - Heat oil in a deep pot. Fry the coated rings until golden brown on both sides, turning once. Drain on paper towels.
06 - Remove toothpicks before serving. Best enjoyed hot with marinara sauce on the side.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Secure cheese with toothpicks to prevent leaking during frying.
02 - Use a double coating of flour, batter, and breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
03 - Serve immediately for optimal crispness and melted cheese interior.
