Cast Iron Skillet Pizza (Print-Friendly Version)

Crispy, cheesy skillet pizza made simply in a cast iron pan. Perfect for quick pizza nights with custom toppings.

# What You'll Need:

01 - 1 can (about 400 g) refrigerated pizza dough
02 - 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
03 - 120 ml pizza sauce or marinara sauce
04 - 200 g shredded mozzarella cheese
05 - 50 g pepperoni slices

# How to Make It:

01 - Set oven to 220°C (425°F). Pour olive oil into the base of a 30 cm cast iron skillet and brush to evenly coat the surface.
02 - Unroll the canned pizza dough and place in the centre of the skillet. Gently press and stretch the dough to evenly cover the pan, working it up the sides and ensuring it is well-coated with olive oil.
03 - Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border. Evenly scatter shredded mozzarella on top, followed by pepperoni slices. Add any preferred toppings if desired.
04 - Place skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and cheese is fully melted.
05 - Remove the skillet from the oven. Immediately transfer pizza to a cooling rack to maintain crispness. Slice into wedges and serve hot.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Ensure the oven is fully preheated before baking for the best crust texture.
02 - Customise by adding vegetables, other meats, or fresh herbs as desired.
03 - Leftovers keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 4 days; reheat in oven or air fryer for best results.
04 - Cast iron retains and distributes heat evenly, promoting a crisp base.
