01 - 1 box chocolate cake mix
02 - Ingredients required for chocolate cake mix (eggs, oil, water as listed on package)

03 - 1 cup black buttercream frosting
04 - 24 candy eyes
05 - Cat ears, shaped from fondant icing
06 - 24 chocolate chips
07 - Black licorice sticks, sliced into thin strips

# How to Make It:

01 - Prepare chocolate cake mix according to package guidelines, incorporating required eggs, oil, and water.
02 - Portion the batter evenly into a lined 12-cup muffin tin and bake as directed on the package until a toothpick inserted into the centre of a cupcake comes out clean.
03 - Transfer cupcakes to a wire rack and allow to cool completely before decorating.
04 - Generously frost the tops of each cooled cupcake with black buttercream.
05 - Attach fondant cat ears at the top of each cupcake and press in two candy eyes. Place a chocolate chip for the nose and insert four short strips of black licorice on each side for whiskers.
06 - Arrange the decorated cupcakes on a platter and serve.
